On Saturday in the 0-0 draw with Doncaster Rovers, Sam Hoskins made his 300th Senior appearance. Hoskins started his footballing career at Southampton in 2005 however never made a senior appearance with the side.
During his time at Southampton he made three loan spells. His first was in November 2011 when he joined Preston North End on emergency loan for one month. However Hoskins picked up an in jury in training which meant he never played and return to Southampton to recover.
In January 2012 he made his second loan move after receiving from the injury he picked up at Preston. He joined Leauge Two side Rotherham United. He made his debut two days after joining the club, coming on as a substitute in a 2–1 away defeat to Oxford United.
Hoskins scored his first professional goal in April 2012, again appearing as a second-half substitute, and netting an 83rd-minute winner in a 2–1 victory at AFC Wimbledon. He earned his first starting appearance in the penultimate game of the season, scoring with a neat chip in a 2–2 draw against Aldershot Town. During his time at Rotherham he made 8 appearance and scored 2 goals.
He next stop on loan was Stevenage where he joined in January 2013 he was there until the ned of the season. Making a total of 14 appearances scoring one goal.
In 2013 his time had come to leave Southampton as things just wasn’t working out for him. He joined newly championship club Yeovil Town on a 2 year deal.
Sam made 21 appearances in his first season with Yeovil in the Championship. The following season he joined Barnet on loan from Yeovil. He scored for them on his debut in a 5-0 win over Altrincham. He scored another goal for Barnet. After it looked sam had gained more fitness Yeovil recalled Sam. Hoskins returned to Yeovil on 27 October 2014 after making seven appearances and scoring twice for Barnet.
On 13 December 2014, Hoskins scored his first Yeovil goal in a 4–0 win over Oldham Athletic. Sam was released by Yeovil after their relegation to Leauge two. Sam made 31 appearances for Yeovil scoring the one goal.
In August 2015 Sam joined the Cobblers where he still is today in 2021 so far he has made 232 appearances scoring 36 goals.
His first Cobblers appearance came in a 1-0 win at Bristol Rovers in August 2015. His first Cobblers goal came one game later in a 3-0 victory over Blackpool in the Capital One Cup.
