Played for Both – Crewe Alexandra

Vadaine Oliver 

Oliver signed for Crewe in June 2013 on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee from Lincoln City. He made his debut as an 89th  minute substitute in a 3–3 draw v Rotherham. Oliver scored his first Crewe goal after sliding in from a Brad Inman cross in a 2-2 Draw v Peterborough.

Oliver came to the Cobblers from Morecambe in July 2019 on a one year contract and went on to make 30 appearances scoring 4 goals and winning the Leauge two play offs with the Cobblers.

Paul Bancroft

Paul’s career took off after he stepped down from League football. Two seasons at Derby came to nothing.

He had a long loan period at struggling Crewe but was not offered terms by them.

He came to Northampton and started off as a first team regular but as the management shuffled the side to try and find a winning combination he found himself out of the team! He left at the end of the season moving to Nuneaton.

Daniel Powell

In May 2017 Daniel joined the Cobblers on a two year contract signing from MK Dons. Daniel made 64 appearance for the Cobblers scoring 8 goals. Before he left to join Crewe in Summer of 2019. So far he’s made 42 appearances and scores 10 goals. 

Billy Waters 

Billy progressed through Crewe’s academy He was called up to the clubs first team in October 2012. He was an unused substitute five times throughout the 2012-13 season, before signing his first professional contract on a one-year deal in May 2013. 

He spent 2 years with Crewe making just 25 appearances and scored 2 goals. He joined the Cobblers from Cheltenham in 2017, he played under 3 mangers at the Cobblers making 3 loan spells he made a total of 39 appearances and scored 2 goals.

Steve Guinan

Steve made a loan spell with Crewe from Nottingham Forest in 1998 he made just 3 appearances. He came to the Cobblers 2009 and spent 3 seasons with us made 39 appearances scoring 5 goals. Spending a season on loan to forest green in that time. 

Alex Nicholls

In June 2012, Nicholls joined League Two side Northampton Town on a free transfer after his contract expired.

Nicholls soon became a fans favourite at the club with his all energy displays and some vital goals, he scored 8 goals in 16 games before his season was ended prematurely when on 27 October he broke his leg after a late challenge from Port Vale defender John McCombe. 

On 6 July 2018, Nicholls joined Crewe Alexandra on a one-year contract. and, on his first team debut on 4 August 2018, scored twice during a 6–0 win over Morecambe. At the end of the 2018–19 season, Nicholls was released and was set to leave the club.

Ashley Westwood 

Ashley joined Crewe in 2011 where he made just 6 appearance before going the Cobblers. His time at Northampton was one ravaged by injury. He played just nine games in the third division in 2003-04. 

He left Sixfields at the end of the campaign after not being offered a new contract and instead signed for Chester. 

Billy Bodin

Billy made just 8 appearances for Crewe at the end of the 2011 – 2012 season. He joined the Cobblers in 2015. 

He signed on a deal until the end of the season having spent time at the club during his knee ligament injury rehabilitation.Bodin made four substitute appearances for the Cobblers before leaving in the summer.
