First Meeting

The first meeting came on Thursday 28th August 1958 at the County Ground.

Dave Smith’s Cobblers side ran out comfortable 3-0 winners, watched by a crowd of 11,916.

First Trip to Crewe

Just four days later, on Monday 1st September 1958, Northampton made their first trip to Gresty Road.

Once again the Cobblers came out on top, this time winning 2-1. Crewe would go on to finish below Northampton in the table that season, ending the campaign in 18th place.

Last Meeting

The most recent meeting between the sides came on Saturday 18th March 2023 at Sixfields.

Jon Brady’s Cobblers secured all three points with a 1-0 victory.

Last Trip to Gresty Road

Northampton’s last visit to Crewe came on 20th August 2022, when the two sides shared the points in an entertaining 2-2 draw.

Cup Meetings

Remarkably, Northampton and Crewe have never met in either the FA Cup or EFL Trophy.

Their only cup encounters have come in the League Cup, where the two clubs have faced each other twice.
