Cobblers Past

History Never Forgotten

5 years, 5 highlights

Today marks five years since Kelvin Thomas brought Northampton Town Football Club and I’m looking back at my highlights from those five years.

1. Seats going in the East stand.

Is was a big stepping stone as the club had been looking at a empty stand for over 9 months and it kept reminding us the trouble that we was in. One of the many jobs that kelvin had done in the short amount of time,

2. TROPHY LIFT

At the end of a iconic season in Cobblers history, we saw the team Ben presented with the league two trophy at home with a 4 sided stadium. The atmosphere was electric very fan felt as it was the turning point that the club needed.

3. Trophy Parade

A year of non paid staff and players saw 2 busses parade the town on the hottest day of the year. The drinks was flowing and this slings were blearing. The market square packed, and that’s a moment no Cobblers fan will forget.

4. FA Cup Northwitch Victoria

A game which was a very memorable one for me. The Sixfields tavern burning down pre-match, the game live around the world and the cobblers coming back in the finals stages to win the game 3-2 after being 2 goals behind. Now Calvert Lewin who scored for the Cobblers is playing for England and in the premier league.

5. Wembley 2020

And of course the final moment has got to be this year’s unbeaten Wembley final. The underdogs they called us, however coming back in the semi finals to beat Cheltenham 3-2 on aggregate, But then having a record win at Wembley. Happy timers in the strange times we was/are living in.

Would all of this have happened if it wasn’t for Kelvin.
