Warren was a squad player at Sunderland making just 27 appearances in five seasons; however, one of those was as a substitute in the 1992 F.A. cup final when Sunderland lost to Manchester United. |
He spent time out on loan to several clubs including Northampton where they were desperately trying to find a goal scorer. |
His best spell came in Scottish football where he played nearly 200 games for Berwick, Morton Raith and Queen of the South. |
He later became coach at Linwood for who his son played. |
Warren competed in the ‘Regenburg Iron Man Triathlon in Gernany which includes a 3.8 Km. swim a 180 Km. Cycle ride and a 42.2 Km. run and completed the course in 11 hours 14 minutes and 3 seconds. |
Later a director of Greenock Morton |
