A game that I missed created many stats. So I’ve collated them all together for this little debrief of stats after yesterday’s fantastic win over Carlisle.
Paul Lewis scored the first Cobblers hat trick since Matt Crooks at Macclesfield Town in October 2018, in the Cobblers 5-0 victory over the Silkmen. It was also the first by a Cobbler at Sixfields since Keshi Anderson in January 2017, when the Cobblers beat Coventry 3-0.
Paul Lewis’ second goal was the 5,000th goal in games involving the Cobblers in league two. 2,540 of those scored by the Cobblers. This makes the Cobblers the 6th club to have seen that many goals in tier 4 of English football.
This is the first time the Cobblers have achieved Four wins in a row since March 2019 when they beat Stevenage, Crewe, Exeter and Newport under Keith Curle.
It’s also been a while since we’ve seen a goal go in the back of our net with Liam Roberts keeping 4 clean sheets in a row which means it’s now over 400 minutes since Cobblers last conceded a goal.
Jon Brady is the 18th Cobblers manager to win at least as many games as he’s lost.
Onwards and upwards!
