Ahead of the weekends meeting between the Cobblers and Accrington. We look back at some of the players that have played for both the Cobblers and Accrington. How many do you remember?

Mark Hughes (header photo)

Mark made over 100 appearances scoring 6 goals for the Cobblers and joined Accrington in 2013 where he still is today.

Arthur Chadwick

Played for the Cobblers between 1904- 1906 making 66 appearances. He left the Cobblers for Accrington at the close season of 1906.

Robet Mortimer

Played for the Cobblers between 1931-32 making 66 appearances. Played for Accrington in 1935 -1937.

Matt Crooks

Matt Crooks played for the Cobblers from 2017 – 2019 before he moved to championship side Rotherham where he is now. He played for Accrington on loan before he signed a contact in 2015.

Richard Oxley

Richard played for Accrington for one season 1921-22 making 34 appearances. He joined the Cobblers in December 1924 making only 1 appearances in his time with us.

Brian Cain (Yogi)

Started is a amentia career at Accrington before joining the Cobblers in 1961 making 1 appearance for town.

George Hudson

George joined the in 1966 for £25,000 he made 20 appearances and scored 6 goals for the Cobblers. He played for Accrington in 1960 making 61 appearances scoring 20 goals.

Douglas Roberts

Played for the Cobblers as a war time guest before signing for the cobblers in 1945 making 69 appearances scoring 14 goals. He signed for Accrington in July 1941 and played 40 games scoring 10 goals.

Michael Smith

Played on loan for both the Cobblers and Accrington.
