Saturday March 5th 1966 saw Leeds United the visitors to the County Ground which saw a crowd of 21,548. The Cobblers side saw 1 change from the side that beat Newcastle 3-1 a week prior. The Change saw new signing George Hudson make his debut in place of Brown.
All three goals came in minutes of each other, the first came on the 11 minute of the match as Hudson sent a looping pass to Lines who headed home for the Cobblers.
The Second goal came just two minutes later, as Hudson beat Charlton to a raking pass to score the clubs second.
Leeds came back into the game within just 2 minutes as a poor clearance by Branston was picked up by O’Grady who volleyed home which gave leads the only goal of the game.
The 21,548 crowed at the County Ground was swelled by Coventry supporters upset their hero George Hudson had been sold to the Cobblers just 2 days prior.
