A rare nene derby win at Sixfields for Kevan Broadhurst’s Cobblers side.
A Tuesday night at Sixfields Stadium with an attendance of 6,082 who saw the Cobblers beat Peterborough 2-1 in Division 2.
The Cobblers side saw one change from the side that lost 2-0 away to Tranmere a week before the change saw Gabbiadini returns at Hope’s expense.
Referee Barry Knight was in charge of the Nene Derby at Sixfields in this year, which saw five players cautioned Daryl Burgess who had another impressive performance and Marco Gabbidini who also played well, where the only players to go into the Referees book for the Cobblers. Rea, Williams and Forsyth were all booked for Peterborough.
Peterborough opened the scoring on the 2nd minute of the match with Jimmy Bullard opened the scoring with a 25-yard free kick.
All the goals in the game came in the first half with the Cobblers forcing an equaliser in the seventeenth minute as Parkin powered in a header from a Hunt free kick.
The rain continued to pour on this cold Tuesday night in February but that didn’t stop the Cobblers from seeing a winner as Jamie Forester got the winner on the 39th minute of the match as he converted a 25 yard free kick past Posh goalkeeper Tyler.
