Saturday 7th March saw the Cobblers visit the Memorial Ground to face Bristol Rovers in Division 2. This was the Cobbler’s first game at the Memorial ground, which ended in a good result. 

There was one change from the side that lost to Wrexham a week prior, with HEGGS coming in for Seal. 

The Cobblers opened the the scoring on 32 minutes Heggs went on a brave run placing the ball at the feet the overlapping  Freestone who rounded Jones. 

In the second half on the62 minute referee Mr Paul Rejer awarded the Cobblers a penalty after Heggs had his shirt pulled in the box and Dozzell conveted. 

Ian Holloway Rovers manager said after the game, ‘We were rubbish and Northampton were rubbish as well’.
