Jack Payne’s shot was straight at Jonathan Mitchell and Jonny Smith blazed over as Swindon sought a response, but they were further behind just shy of the half-hour mark as Missilou turned provider, chipping a ball over the top for Rose who slotted into the bottom corner.
Matthew Smith and Hallam Hope squandered good chances to halve the deficit before half-time and then Jonathan Grounds clipped the woodwork with a volley in the second half.

Eoin Doyle shot tamely at David Cornell inside the first minute before opposing goalkeeper Steven Benda was forced into more strenuous action when getting down superbly to tip Mark Marshall’s low shot around the post.
Chances were few and far between in the first half as Cornell made another comfortable stop from Doyle and then Benda beat away Sam Hoskins’ 20-yard shot.
Diallang Jaiyesimi fluffed his lines when he only had a defender to beat in the second half and the same man side-footed a second effort wide just moments later.
But Swindon were starting to turn the screw and their pressure paid off after 78 minutes when Lyden timed his run to perfection to head in Doyle’s high cross.
The Cobblers had no response after that and slipped to a second-straight home defeat to remain sixth.

Matt Crooks side-footed off target and David Buchanan saw an effort blocked while Michael Doughty fired against the post with Swindon’s only chance of the half.
But the visitors improved in the second period and levelled through Anderson’s crisp finish from Elijah Adebayo’s lay-off.

Northampton had to wait until the 22nd minute before their first real opportunity fell to Sam Hoskins, who broke free before seeing his shot parried against the post, the visitors came alive after the break and almost went ahead through Andy Williams, only for Swindon’s Taylor to deny him a chance from six yards out.
However, they didn’t have to wait long for their goal which came in the 58th minute when John-Joe O’Toole volleyed in from a Hoskins cross.
But Swindon responded in emphatic fashion after Taylor curled his free-kick into the top corner from 25 yards out.
