This year we are helping you countdown the days to Christmas with a goal from the Cobblers history. Today we head to a 3-0 win over Exeter City in August 2015, which was voted the goal of the month.

Northampton Town won and kept their third clean sheet of the season against Exeter, who suffered their first loss.

Cobblers had early chances before Jason Taylor scored his first Northampton goal by hitting a volley from 25 yards into the top right-hand corner.

Exeter’s David Wheeler had a shot stopped by David Buchanan, before Ryan Cresswell’s header doubled the lead. 

The Grecians’ Troy Brown put a header wide and Marc Richards slotted home at the back post for the Cobblers’ third.
