Northampton Town have signed Beryly (Bez) Lubala from Blackpool on loan for the rest of the season.
The 24 year old Lubala, who can play as a striker or wide, arrives at Sixfields having started his career with Birmingham City, where he made five appearances, before joining Crawley Town in the summer of 2019.
In just over a year at Crawley, Lubala scored thirteen goals in 41 appearances – including twelve goals for the Sussex side in the shortened 2019/20 season – before joining Blackpool for an undisclosed fee in the summer 2020 transfer window.
Lubala has played 20 times for the Seasiders, and has now made the move to Sixfields.
“We feel Bez is a good signing for us, his ability and attributes fit the profile we are looking for,” said manager Jon Brady.
“He has a strong relationship with Colin Calderwood from Colin’s time at Blackpool so we know all about Bez and he knows all about us and we are delighted he is joining us.blob:https://cobblerspast.com/be2af2de-3815-46c6-b4f9-56ac4219e093
“He has shown tremendous strength of character in what has been a difficult year for him and his family but that is all behind him now, and he is hungry, determined and ambitious to kick on from here and we are delighted to have him on board.
“He had a really good spell at Crawley with plenty of goals and assists in League 2 and has a lot of pace and is a threat.
“There was a lot of interest in Bez from a number of clubs at both this and higher levels and we are really pleased to welcome him to Sixfields.”
