On the 6th of March the Cobblers celebrate their 123rd Birthday.

And then it all started to go strange.

The 7th of March saw the Cobblers take on Mansfield which turned out to be the Cobblers last game for some time. With Sam Hoskins shown a red card within the first 15 minutes of the match with Mansfield was awarded a penalty. And current Cobblers 29 Danny Rose put man afield in the lead and Mansfield dibbled their lead in the second half, however Harry Smith got one back in injury time.

On 13th March Callum Morton was named Sky Bet League Two player of the month.

Also on this day at 11am it was declared all EFL Matches would be suspended for three weeks. The FA, Premier League, EFL and Barclays FA Women’s Super League and FA Women’s Championship have collectively agreed to postpone the professional game in England until 3 April at the earliest.

Everybody was doing there bit to help the NHS, community but also keep people entertained.

On the 21st March we paused as at Cobblers Past we remembered Frank:

Again as the Country was still in Lockdown the club and its accounts still worked hard to keep football going and they continued with the entertainment. But Also the Community trust started a Campaign called Keep Calm and Cobbler on. Which kept the venerable and lonely entertained. Players and Staff would ring them up send them activity packs and much more. It was such an amazing campaign set up by the club.

On May 3rd the Cobblers lost former player Alec Carson, he young Alec showed promise at football and played for Corby Town’s youth team before joining the ground staff at fourth division Northampton Town. He signed professional for the Cobblers in November 1959 and made his Football League debut in a 1-1 draw against Stockport County in April 1961. He made seven appearances the following season before moving to Aldershot in 1963, making five Division Four appearances over two years.

Every Thursday at 8pm everybody clapped for our carers.

Then we could go back and training was underway.
